The Alliance’s Approach to Sponsorship

Seafood Choices Alliance is the global association working to advance the market for sustainable seafood. In doing so, we implement a series of innovative programs and projects that meet the needs of our membership—from our business-to-business roundtables and buyer workshops, to a first-of-its-kind sourcing directory and the annual Seafood Summit.

In delivering those services and building the market for sustainable seafood, we engage a wide range of members and companies from across the seafood sector that are looking to transition their operations to be more environmentally and economically sustainable. One of the Alliance’s greatest assets is its vast network of individual members and friends who hold leadership positions within the seafood industry. In some cases, we also look to those friends and members for the financial resources necessary to get the job done. And as with our membership, our sponsors reflect the full diversity of leaders in the field who are working together to find incremental solutions for a sustainable industry.

We believe it is essential to work with a diverse range of those who can contribute to the dialogue and take action across all levels of the industry. Importantly therefore, our fundraising efforts allow us to make new connections, create buy-in, and bring new corporate partners to the table in pursuit of seafood sustainability.

Seafood Choices Alliance is currently accepting sponsors for the Seafood Summit 2009. The annual Seafood Summit brings together all facets of the sustainable seafood industry. Now in its 8th year, this summit is internationally recognized as the forum that inspires productive dialogue towards helping today’s business leaders to critically examine the many factors influencing their place in the rapidly changing sustainability landscape. We are also seeking host organizations for the GRI Seafood Workshops for the seafood processing sector. in response to demands for a harmonized set of guidelines, Seafood Choices Alliance together with the Global Reporting Initiative embarked on a two-year partnership to ensure that sustainability reporting guidance for the Food Processing Sector addresses the unique needs of the international seafood processing sector. Workshops will be held for regional stakeholders around the world, and are open to all interested seafood processors and stakeholders of the seafood industry such as NGOs, experts, fishery management organisations, governments etc. More info >
